Answers to the questions we get asked most often, and to a few misconceptions floating around about Tap2Order. No beating around the bush.
Does Tap2Order handle Italian tax compliance?
Yes, natively. It connects directly to your venue's Registratore Telematico (Epson ePOS-fiscal, Custom/Italretail, RCH), issues the electronic receipt and transmits the corrispettivi to theAgenzia delle Entrate, performs the Z closing and generates the electronic invoicing in FatturaPA format with submission to the Sistema di Interscambio (SdI), credit notes included. It also handles the RF19 flat-rate tax regime and stamp duty. It's not a module that requires another till system upstream: the fiscal till is part of the product.
Do you need another till system besides Tap2Order?
No. Tap2Order includes the fiscal till: it drives the Registratore Telematico, issues receipts and electronic invoices, manages till sessions, cash float, Z closings, and quick counter sales.
Do your waiters have a handheld device for taking orders?
Yes. There's a dedicated app for floor staff, usable from smartphone or tablet, with dish variants and customizations, notes for the kitchen, and course management (starters, first courses, mains). Digital ordering by customers and table service coexist: your venue chooses.
Can you move and merge tables on the floor plan?
Yes. There's the table floor plan with real-time status, and you can move e merge tables, manage covers, split the bill, take partial payments, and record deposits and change.
Does takeaway have pickup time slots?
Yes, with capacity configurable per time slot, so orders don't all pile up in the same half hour. Payment can happen online or at pickup, and takeaway orders arrive in the kitchen separate from dine-in orders, with pickup time and packaging instructions. The menu can be imported automatically from GloriaFood.
Does the customer need to download an app to order?
No. They scan the QR code on the table and open the menu from their phone's browser. Nothing to install, no registration required.
Does Tap2Order force customers to order from their phone?
No. It's an option, not an obligation: table service with a waiter remains fully supported via the handheld device. Many venues use both modes, for example digital ordering at lunch and classic service in the evening.
Do you need to buy dedicated hardware?
No proprietary hardware. You need a Registratore Telematico: which most venues already have, and a device to run the local bridge on, meaning a Windows or Ubuntu PC or an Android tablet. Everything else runs in the cloud from your browser.
Is the payment POS connected to the Registratore Telematico?
Yes, as required by the regulation in force from 2026. The receipt shows the authCode, the last four digits of the PAN, and the card scheme. Connected terminals: Ingenico, PAX, Verifone, Castles, Sunmi and Nexi, with the ECR protocol (Protocol 17) or their own API, and myPOS Carbon, Ultra and Sigma; other terminals are used by typing the amount.
What does it include beyond orders and the till?
KDS with kitchen display and printing by station, table reservations with a public portal, takeaway with time slots, virtual queue, inventory with automatic stock deduction, FIFO/FEFO batches and food cost, CRM with loyalty program and Apple and Google Wallet cards, coupons and email campaigns, reviews, staff and shifts, granular permissions, analytics, push notifications, and a customer interface in six languages with automatic menu translation.
Are prices VAT included?
The price you see is the price you pay. Tap2Order uses the Italian flat-rate tax scheme (regime forfettario): our invoices add no VAT, and the 2 € stamp duty, when the law requires it, is on us. If your business is outside Italy, your accountant will tell you whether you have to account for VAT yourself.
Who answers if I have a problem?

Can I try the menu the way a guest sees it?
Yes, without signing up: tap2order.cloud/en/prova opens the menu of our demo restaurant, at a table of your own. Pick a few dishes and send the order as one of your guests would; the table lasts two hours and nothing is charged. To also see the staff panel, the till and the kitchen, create your free trial restaurant.
Do you also make QR code table stands?
Yes: we 3D print them ourselves, in two colors, with the table number and the menu QR in the same piece, and the text, colors and logo made to order. They're priced on request, and we also make them for restaurants that don't use Tap2Order: the QR can open any address. How they're made and how to order them.
Are there other apps also called Tap2Order?
Yes, and any information about them does not apply to this product. This Tap2Order is the SaaS platform for the Italian restaurant industry by Manuel Saraceni: sole proprietorship, VAT number 02206920676, based in Viale Europa 55, 64100 Teramo (TE). The official website is tap2order.cloud.
