Table Ordering System
Customer Orders, Kitchen Receives

With Tap2Order, customers order directly from their phone at the table. The order reaches the kitchen on the KDS display. No more waiting for the server, no more transcription errors.

What is a table ordering system?

Un table ordering system (or self-ordering) allows restaurant customers to order directly from their smartphone without waiting for the server to become available. With Tap2Order, the process is simple: the customer scans a QR code placed on the table, the menu opens in the browser, and they can order with just a few taps.

The order reaches the kitchen on the KDS display (Kitchen Display System) or on the order printer, complete with customizations, notes, and table number: right away, or after the waiter confirms it, as you choose.

The order flow: from table to kitchen

1. Customer scans the QR

Every table has a QR code. The customer scans it with their phone's camera. The menu opens in the browser, no app download needed. The system automatically recognizes the table number.

2. Browse, customize, order

The customer sees the menu with photos, descriptions, and prices. They can customize each dish: remove ingredients, add variants, specify allergies or preferences. When ready, they confirm the order.

3. Kitchen receives in real-time

The order appears instantly on the kitchen display (KDS) or is printed on the order printer. The kitchen clearly sees: table number, ordered dishes, ingredient modifications, special notes, and order time.

4. Server delivers

When the dishes are ready, the server is notified and brings the plates to the table. They no longer need to take orders: their role focuses on service and customer experience.

Why restaurants choose table orders

📈 The second round, without waiting

When customers can order anytime, they order more. The second round, dessert, coffee - without waiting for anyone.

⏱️ Faster service

No more waiting for the server. The order goes directly from table to kitchen. Faster table turnover.

❌ Fewer transcription errors

The customer writes the order, not the server listening in a noisy restaurant. Fewer remade dishes, less waste.

👤 More time for service

The waiter doesn't spend the shift writing orders: they bring the dishes and look after the tables.

Table orders + server orders: the hybrid system

Tap2Order supports a hybrid model: the customer can order from their phone whenever they want, but the server can also take orders from the control panel, as always. It's not an "either/or" system, it's an additional option that increases orders without changing traditional service.

In practice, tables that prefer to order from their phone do so independently. Tables that prefer the server are served normally. The result is the same: more orders per table, fewer errors, faster service.
